EST Lu Mike, EST Gee’s Artist, Dead After Triple Shooting: Report

Another burgeoning rapper has met an early demise , as EST Lu Mike, an artist and friend of EST Gee, was reportedly killed Sunday (Aug. 11) night in their hometown of Louisville, Ky.

Officers responded to calls of a shooting on the 900 block of Baxter Avenue around 1:45 a.m., Baller Alert reports. Upon arrival, officers encountered several men with gunshot wounds, with one being pronounced dead on the scene and another passing at a local hospital. Another man was hospitalized and is expected to recover. Several outlets have reported EST Lu Mike as being one of the men who didn’t make it. The cause of the shooting remains unknown.

The unfortunate news comes weeks after EST Gee’s manager, EST Big Beach, was also killed due to gun violence. The longtime manager was reportedly murdered in Louisville, as well, and was found dead by police in a vehicle parked Downtown. The businessman was in the city to support EST Gee’s July 20th concert, the EST Gee + Friends Summer Jam, which brought out fellow rappers including Lil Baby, Future and 42 Dugg. The city and venue reportedly amped up security due to EST Gee’s affiliation with alleged gang, Everybody Shine Together.

EST Gee has also been placed in harms way in the past, as the “I Think” rapper was shot five times in 2019 while driving home from a video shoot. During a 2022 chat with Rolling Stone , the artist discussed the tragedy of death for everyday people compared to how rappers are remembered when they’re killed.

“Regular n**gas is targeted every day,” he asserted. “Regular n**gas get robbed for their jewelry every day. That sh*t don’t be on Instagram. Is it still sad? The sh*t ain’t [perceived as] sad, it’s only sad when it’s a rapper.”
