LL Cool J shares his idea of what may make a successful biopic of his life and career. Speaking on the idea of an autobiographical film with Entertainment Tonight’s Rachel Smith, the rapper explained how he is not quite sold on the idea, after playing a clip of Snoop Dogg explaining his own story will be formatted for audiences soon.

“I can’t tell mine without telling yours first ’cause it wouldn’t be no me without you,” said the California native, detailing that he has approached LL Cool J with the idea in the past.

“We’ve talked about it briefly but only under the condition that he actually plays me,” responded the 56-year-old. He continued to joke, “I need Snoop Dogg to be LL Cool J in my biopic. I need that! Snoop, would you play me in the biopic?,” adding, “You can produce it if you do that.”

Snoop Dogg (L) and LL Cool J perform at BET Jams Presents: 2018 BET Experience Staples Center Concert, sponsored by Nissan, at L.A. Live on June 21, 2018 in Los Angeles, California.

The Queens rhymer continued to elaborate on his apprehension about working on a biopic.

“I’m open to it, but I’m not gonna lie to you… it bores me a little bit,” he detailed.

He continued to detail, “It’s not that I’m against it. I’m open to doing a documentary, I’m open to the idea of doing a biopic. It just doesn’t excite me. It’s kinda like me turning around in the mirror with my jeans on and looking at myself. I don’t know what that means. I don’t do that a lot.”

LL Cool J performs at Dick Clark’s New Year’s Rockin’ Eve with Ryan Seacrest 2024 in Times Square on December 31, 2023 in New York, New York.

Elsewhere in the interview, the 56-year-old opened up about his forthcoming 14th studio album THE FORCE, due on Sept. 6, 2024. The project is solely produced by Q-Tip and features Rick Ross, Saweetie, Busta Rhymes, and more.

“I’m just excited for [fans] to get to experience what me and Q-Tip have been working on all this time,” the Hip-Hop veteran explained to the outlet.

“I know it’s been a long time since I put out an album that moved the culture and gave people my perspective on where I think the state of the art should be. And so, rather than get out here and talk about what should be, I decided to create some music and show people what I think Hip-Hop can sound like in 2024, you know what I’m saying?”
