Although the 2024 Paris Olympics just ended not too long ago, Flavor Flav is thinking ahead and already has his sights set on the next round of the world games. The Long Island emcee recently revealed he has applied to become an official torchbearer for the 2028 Olympics, which will be held in Los Angeles.

On Wednesday (Aug. 28), Flav joined iHeart’s Politickin podcast hosted by California’s Gov. Gavin Newsom, former NFL star Marshawn Lynch, and agent Doug Hendrickson, where he spoke about his next Olympic goal. The Public Enemy member couldn’t speak about the news without giving Snoop Dogg his flowers for being a torchbearer in Paris earlier this month.

“Guess what? I got a feeling I might be one of them,” he teased. “I put my bid in already. I said, if Snoop can carry the torch in Paris — come on, man — Flav can carry that bad boy in L.A., and Snoop did a fantastic job, man.”

Flav has consistently had a generous spirit throughout the 2024 Paris Olympics, as he offered to make Jordan Chiles a bronze clock chain after hers was taken away. In the midst of the scoring controversy, he wrote to the star gymnast, “imma make you a BRONZE CLOCK NECKLACE. And that’s something NO ONE else has,!!! Hit me up my girl,,, I gotchu,!!!”

And to no one’s surprise, he kept his word and actually got the clock chain made.

Additionally, he paid Olympian Veronica Fraley’s rent and sponsored the US women’s water polo team. Flav previously spoke with NPR about the latter, detailing, “And when the women aren’t in the water playing water polo and everything, you know, they’re home, working active jobs – one, two and three jobs. These girls are out here busting their butt to make the United States look good. So when they’re out here playing and practicing, it takes them away from their work. So I said to myself, why not step in and try to help these girls out?”
