Three suspects charged in the murder of rapper Julio Foolio have pleaded not guilty. According to a Tampa, Fla., news station Isaiah Chance, 21, Sean Gathright, 18, and Alicia Andrews, 21, were arraigned in a Hillsborough County courtroom on Monday (Aug. 26).

A fourth person of interest, Rashad Murphy, will have an arraignment hearing next month after he is transferred from another county where he is incarcerated, per Tampa News Channel 8, and a fifth suspect, Davion Murphy, remains at large.

Gathright, Chance, and Andrews allegedly conspired with Davion and Rashad Murphy to commit the crime. The trio was arrested in Jacksonville in late July and charged with premeditated first-degree murder and conspiracy to commit murder.

The accused suspects are allegedly involved in gang activity. According to Tampa Police Chief Lee Bercaw, an investigation determined the shooting was carried out by affiliates of Yungeen Ace, the street rival of the “Voo Doo.”

Julio Foolio, born Charles Andrew Jones II, was shot and killed in June while celebrating his birthday.

“Mr. Jones had been in Tampa to celebrate his birthday over the weekend,” Fusco said in a statement. “Law enforcement reports indicate that he initially stayed at an Airbnb but was asked to leave due to exceeding occupancy limits. He subsequently relocated to the Holiday Inn, where he was involved in an incident in the hotel parking lot and reportedly ambushed.”

Video footage of the violent crime was released showcasing the rapper attempting to flee from the gunfire. Three other victims were wounded, however, survived with non-life-threatening injuries.
