50 Cent is never one to hold back what he really wants to say, and his latest series of words revealed his thoughts about Damon Dash. The Queens rapper recently sat down with Gillie Da Kid and Wallo for an episode of their Million Dollaz Worth Of Game podcast where they went into a discussion about 50’s Shady Records deal and the reactions to it at the time.

The “Many Men” spitter invited the duo down to Shreveport for the Humor and Harmony Festival. After Gillie played in the celebrity basketball game while Wallo supported from the bench, they linked up with 50 for the interview. While delving into his $1 million deal with Shady Records, 50 revealed the Roc-A-Fella Records co-founder was the only person who said the money wasn’t that much.

“The only person that pointed out a million dollars was no money was Damon Dash, and he has no money now,” 50 said. “How you gonna say that’s no money?” He explained Dame’s reasoning at the time, going into his impression of the record executive. “’After you get you a watch, chain, look out for the homies and then do this, then it’s nothing,’” added Fif.

The Get Rich Or Die Tryin’ creator then provided context on why Dame’s response hit him a certain way. “I’m from 134th Street. A million dollars is a lot of money. I think I hit the lotto. How are you gonna say that it’s no money? I just never forgot that because of how it felt,” he added.

Once the clip started making its rounds on social media, fans shared their thoughts about why the comment has stuck with 50 for so long. “Dame wasn’t wrong, but i think 50 took it the wrong way but it worked out for him because it sounds like he used it as motivation to drive him to be the man he is today, so i guess it was a good thing,” one user reasoned, commenting under a viral X repost of the interview.

Another person added, “It’s crazy because I don’t really like either one of these n**gas — but 50 sounded a little sensitive here. I’m sure where he’s at in life now, he should understand rather than be some vindictive.”

Speaking of 50 and his views towards money, the rapper also recently spoke about his current financial status and why he’s in no rush to cross the 10-figure mark.

“I’m not in a hurry to reach billionaire status,” he told UsWeekly. “I’ve reached a point where I don’t want anything I don’t have. What’s the rush? I’ve bought every car I wanted, multiple times over.”

“When people publicly say you’re a billionaire, they come for what you have ,” he further explained. “The IRS might suddenly decide they want 58 percent of your money. The ambulance chasers, the attorneys — it’s an army of ’em after you. Then you’d have to protect yourself because you have deep pockets.”

However, 50 might cross that financial label soon anyway due to his multiple successful avenues of income. In 2024 alone, he’s gearing up to drop a new book, is expanding his STARZ Power empire, sold a docuseries to Netflix, and plenty more.
