Cam’ron is the latest public figure to share their disagreement that Kendrick Lamar has been booked for the 2025 Super Bowl Halftime Show . According to Cam — and several others — Lil Wayne should’ve been the obvious pick, as the championship game will be taking place in his hometown of New Orleans.

“I love Kendrick Lamar, I loved the pop-out , I think he’s one of the top artists of this generation, period. Hate the selection,” Cam confessed on his It Is What It Is podcast shortly after the official announcement. “It’s in New Orleans, and you don’t get Lil Wayne? That’s what we doing…not just Hot Boyz , Cash Money , all the songs Lil Wayne has done, whether it’s Blink 182…there’a no reason why Lil Wayne should not be performing at the Super Bowl.”

The Harlem native then goes on to accuse “one person of stopping” Lil Wayne from hitting the stage.

“It’s not really a secret. Lil Wayne had a problem with somebody before who’s kinda part of the organization running it. This is payback,” he asserted, with most presuming he is referring to Jay-Z.

“Who’s Lil Wayne’s artist? Drake,” Cam added before co-host Ma$e offered, “Hating at this age is crazy.”

“Bro, it’s ridiculous…Lil Wayne not to be performing in New Orleans for the Super Bowl is egregious, and it gotta stop.” Take a look at the clip below.

Cam isn’t the first voice to question K. Dot booking the N.O. gig over Weezy, who has been “praying” for the slot since last year. Master P also suggested that Weezy be involved in some way after it was announced that the West Coast MC would headline.

“Salute to @kendricklamar for performing at the halftime show at Super Bowl LIX.. well deserved, he’s one of the hottest music artists in the world and has one of the biggest songs right now,” wrote Master P.

“As Ambassador of Entertainment in the City of New Orleans, I have to agree with the fans that @liltunechi #LilWayne should be a part of this celebration as well,” the No Limit founder continued. “He’s one of the greatest Hip Hop artists alive, still relevant, and he’s a New Orleans native. Let’s not miss this cultural moment in the South. Life is too short! We have to give our legends their flowers while they are here.”
