Young Dolph Trial: Prosecutors Claim Big Jook Put Hit Out On Rapper

Prosecutors have alleged that Big Jook, Yo Gotti’s big brother, put out a $100,000 hit on Young Dolph. Opening statements for Dolph’s murder trial were given on Monday (Sept. 23), and according to Fox 13 , it was revealed that his death may be connected to Gotti. Shelby County Assistant District Attorney Paul Hagerman claimed that Jook put out a hit on Dolph and argued that the hit was connected to the issues the late rapper had with Gotti’s CMG camp .

“Big Jook, the person I told you about before, the number two guy at CMG, he’s put out a hit, a hit, $100,000 to whoever kills Dolph,” Hagerman told the court. “He has met with Justin. He has met with Cornelius and they think they’re ready to do it.”

Witnesses also began appearing on the stand. Young Dolph’s sister was the first witness to be called, followed by Dolph’s head of security. As the surveillance footage shows, Dolph’s head of security wasn’t with him during the day he died, but rather the artist’s brother.

As a result, the head of security was questioned about the specifics regarding Dolph’s issues with Gotti, CMG, and Jook. He questioned why they needed heightened security for Big Jook and various associates of Cocaine Music Group. Past incidents involving CMG and Dolph were also discussed.

During the trial, Ralo, one of Dolph’s closest friends and associates, seemingly responded to the mention of the four suspects potentially responsible for the death of Young Dolph. There are two men connected to the case as alleged shooters , Cornelius Smith and Justin Johnson, a man named Jemarcus Johnson in an unknown role, and the alleged mastermind behind the shooting, Hernandez Govan.

“F**k every ni**a that’s on [trial] for Young Dolph. Ion even know them and I hate em,” Ralo typed on X/Twitter.

Young Dolph, né Adolph Thornton Jr., was shot and killed at Makeda’s Homemade Cookies in Memphis in November 2021.
