Trina McGee Is Still “Grateful” After Suffering Miscarriage At 54

Trina McGee has revealed that she experienced a loss of pregnancy during the end of the first trimester. As a guest on The Tamron Hall Show, the actress detailed the complex feelings she encountered through the ordeal.

“I did lose the baby. It wasn’t expected, it was closer to the end of the first trimester. We don’t have any real reasons why,” shared the Boy Meets World star. “I was still so grateful to have the experience of being able to conceive at this age and this time.

She continued to detail how she encountered depression and struggled to get out of bed following the loss.

“There’s so many things that come when you really want a family, and you want your family to be complete,” McGee shared. “It was very hard to face the fact that it’s not going to happen at this point in the junction.”

The now 55-year-old continued to elaborate, “The conclusion I came to is, we’ll just keep loving each other, if something happens that way, fine, but I don’t want to put another anxiety on myself. Sometimes it really is better to let go and let God.”

McGee publicly announced she and her husband of 16 years, Marcello Thedford, were expecting their fourth child on social media in June, noting, “At the tender age of 54 I have found myself pregnant.” The couple has three adult children — Ramia, 31, Langston, 29, and Ezra, 25.

“I put something on Facebook. I didn’t think it was a big deal, and I said, ‘I’ll call the kids later. They’re grown. They have their own lives.’ So I speak to them maybe once a week on Sundays, normally. Now, we’re speaking a lot more,” she explained. “Two of them found out through the [social] media, and one of them was really pissed. It was just a matter of a couple of hours of a slip.”
