Lil Reese has been arrested and held without bond in connection to an alleged assault of an ex-girlfriend during a confrontation at a Houston nightclub.

On Monday morning (Sept. 30), the rapper, born Tavares Lamont Taylor, was booked on charges of aggravated assault of a family or household member.

The 31-year-old’s incarceration comes weeks after an arrest warrant was filed against him by Houston police in response to complaints by the alleged victim and a witness of the altercation.

According to TMZ , Lil Reese was apprehended at The Address, a separate nightclub from where the alleged incident occurred, and has been denied bond, meaning the rapper will likely remain behind bars until he faces trial.

The rapper is accused of punching the victim in the face and strangling her after being romantically rebuffed at a Houston nightclub called The Pink House, leaving the victim with abrasions to her face and redness around her neck area .

A friend of the victim who witnessed the assault alerted security guards at the venue, leading to police being called and a criminal report being filed against Lil Reese, who had fled the club by the time authorities arrived.

The victim, who says she was left “gasping for air” and in fear for her life following the incident, reportedly dated Lil Reese for two months before cutting ties with the rapper a month prior to the incident.

According to Lil Reese’s lawyer, the rapper maintains his innocence and is eager to vindicate himself during the legal process.

“Mr. Taylor vehemently denies these false accusations,” attorney Carl Moore told TMZ. “We look forward to his day in court.”
