YG found himself on the wrong side of the law and street this week. The 34-year-old rapper was arrested for misdemeanor DUI after allegedly driving his car onto a curb.

This all took place on Tuesday (Oct. 1). TMZ first reported that the Compton rapper was found standing outside of his car, half of which was on the curb and the other half in the street. Nobody called the police, but rather, they happened to be driving by and spotted him. They did not conduct a breathalyzer test, but they did take a blood sample from the “My Ni**a” rapper.

Burbank City Jail later confirmed to People that he was booked for misdemeanor DUI. Despite the allegations and reports, his legal team is adamant about fighting on his behalf. “We will be contesting the allegations, and they are just that — merely allegations,” his attorney, Joe Tacopina, told People .

This isn’t YG’s first run-in with the law. He was arrested on robbery charges on two occasions; once in 2018 after a man had his chain snatched at The Cosmopolitan in Las Vegas and another instance in 2020 days before he performed at The Grammys. The father of two had both cases dismissed in 2022.

Musically, YG continued his streak of dropping at least one project every year since 2016 with his latest effort Just Re’d Up 3 . The two-disc, 19-song effort featured Lil Yachty, Saweetie, Ty Dolla $ign, Mustard, Larry June, Kalan.Frfr, and more.

He will also be hitting the big screen soon as part of the horror film Goons . Michael Rainey Jr., Chloe Bailey, SteVonté Hart, Tyler Lepley, Serayah, and J Alphonse Nicholson will also appear in the movie. “YG, J. Alphonse, Serayah, SteVonté, and Tyler all bring their own unique flavor to this amazing recipe we are cooking up on Goons here in my hometown of New Orleans,” director Gerard McMurray said about his cast. “I can’t wait for the world to see what we are putting together with this young, gifted cast.”
