Shawn “JAY-Z” Carter is expanding Armand de Brignac Champagne with its latest release , as the prestige maison has announced its first ever vintage Champagne, Blanc de Noirs Vintage 2015.

Exclusively produced in 1.5L magnum sizes, Blanc de Noirs Vintage 2015 features notes of white peach and almond, as well as clementine and the essence of warm cinnamon and cloves. Plum and strawberry notes also shine, complimented by the subtle aroma of violets.

“In 2015, the Champagne region experienced a wet spring followed by a warm, dry summer. The quality of the fruit sourced for the Vintage blend held strong despite the sharp duality of the weather conditions,” explains a press release of the rich contents of the new vintage. “Crafted with 70% Pinot Noir, the grapes in Vintage 2015 are from the best Grand Cru and Premier Cru vineyards, including Mailly and Verzenay. The remaining 30% Pinot Meunier comes from Chigny les Roses, Rilly la Montagne and Ludes. This distinct combination of fruits and aromas pushes the boundaries in the heritage of champagne blending.”

Only 1,258 bottles of Blanc de Noirs Vintage 2015 are being made available globally, with each bottle inscribed with its unique number, as well as its disgorgement date of February 8th, 2024. Fans of the champagne, colloquially known as Ace of Spades, know that a bottle can run you a pretty penny, with this luxe release being no different. One 1.5L bottle will retail for $3,400 upon its November release to select retailers worldwide.

After purchasing a 50% stake in Armand de Brignac in 2006, Hov purchased the remaining half in 2014, becoming the first rapper to fully own a champagne house. The move was prompted by what JAY believed to be racist comments from Frederic Rouzaud, then managing director of the Champagne Louis Roederer winery, which is the maker of Cristal.

In 2021, JAY-Z sold 50% of Armand de Brignac to LVMH’s Moët Hennessy, which also owns Dom Pérignon and Moët & Chandon.
