The Hidden Gem: Lake Breeze Terrace's Exclusive Speakeasy

    2024-05-14

    By Vicki Wood

There is a new pop up bar in town, and you have to know the password to join in on the first Thursday of the month.

Lake Breeze Terrace Resort kicked off a summer of fun in April with a prohibition era speakeasy style pop up bar. Entering through a secret entrance in the back of the building with a predesignated password, visitors slip through the kitchen, into the event space.

In May, pretend casino-style table games were added much to customer's delights, with prizes given for winnings. Live cool jazz saxophone on the terrace is played by The Sax Man-Mike Byington.

You can dress up or down, but those that dress in 1920s-1930s garb seem to have more fun.

A photo booth is handy for professional costume shots.

The food is amazing with a changing theme each time. April was elegant charcuterie. May brought a BBQ buffet.

An open cash bar featured Cranberry Martinis in May.

The lake view at the event center is the star of the show, with breathtaking view of the Niangua Bridge at Lake of the Ozarks Niangua Arm.

The next pop up Speakeasy at Lake Breeze Terrace Event Center will be on the first Thursday of June from 5:30-9:00pm.
