Seafood Extravaganza Supports Kids Cove Respite Home

Seafood for a good cause rolled out last week at The Door Church in Laurie, Missouri. The Executive Director of Kids Cove Respite Home, James Radford, reported a sold out crowd on Thursday, May 16, 2024. Long lines of shellfish lovers loaded plates with crawfish, shrimp, sausage, corn, and all the fixins and enjoyed live music by Dave Dunklee with The Healing Box Project. Local radio and television personality Kevin Burns was emcee for the evening. A live auction followed the dinner with some impressive memoriabilia sold. A Fender Tom Petty signed guitar went for $2000!

All food was donated by the Upstream Fish Company in Greenview, Missouri, with the owner David Daunt volunteering his catering expertise. He continues to support the adoption respite mission by offering a ticketed raffle this week for a full family grab and go crableg boil. Tickets are 10 for $5 for the progressive raffle. Kids Cove Respite Home is a service for foster and adoptive families to offer a bit of time off from the task of caring for foster children 24/7. Located on the beautiful Lake of the Ozarks, the home has lakefront access for watersports and lots of kids activities.
