    Turner A. Brown

    Turner A. Brown passed away Thursday, June 4, at 89 at his home.

    Brown graduated from the University of Arkansas with a degree in accounting.

    Brown was an active member of First Baptist Church serving on the church’s executive committee and as a life deacon.

    He taught the Cecil Knox Sunday School class for many years and worked actively at the medical/dental clinic.

    Brown was an avid golfer, enjoying many hours playing and watching tournaments on TV.

    He was preceded in death by his wife, Elizabeth Brown and his parents, Erma and Joe W. Brown.

    He is survived by his son, Joe Brown (Lynn Haven, Fla.); daughters, Becky Brown (Vicksburg), Karen Brown (Panama City, Fla.); grandson, Kevin (Meghan) Brown (Pensacola, Fla.) and great-granddaughter, Molly Brown (Pensacola).

    Visitation will be Thursday, June 6, at Glenwood Funeral Home from 5 until 7 p.m.

    The funeral will be held at Glenwood Funeral Home Friday, June 7, at 11 a.m. with Dr. Matt Buckles and the Rev. Jimmy Henry officiating the service.

    A visitation will be from 9 until 11 a.m. before the service. Interment will be at Greenlawn Gardens Cemetery.

    In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorials be made to the First Baptist Church, 1607 Cherry Street, Vicksburg; the Baptist Children’s Village, P.O. Box 27, Clinton, 39060-0027; or the Parkinson’s Foundation, 200 SE 1st Street, Suite 800, Miami, FL 33131.

    Pallbearers: David Blackledge, Gary Anderton, Dennis Markle, Calvin Pugh, Kerry Pitts, Randy Oswalt, Larry Daggett and Paul Albritton.

    Honorary pallbearers: Deacons of First Baptist Church and executive committee members.
