No injuries reported in ongoing structure fire

Vicksburg Fire Chief Derrick Stamps said an ongoing structure fire that began in a vehicle did not result in any injuries Friday afternoon.

Stamps said the fire began at 3:25 p.m. when a vehicle inside a garage located at 105 Elms Court was reported to be on fire.

“Upon arrival, crews immediately identified and tackled a structure fire that spread to the attic,” Stamps said. “Currently, crews are actively extinguishing the fire. All occupants promptly evacuated the house, and no injuries have been reported.”
