    The town of Gilbert commemorates the 20th anniversary of 9/11

    GILBERT, AZ - The commemoration ceremony is held annually to honor the lives lost and the nation's strength during the worst act of terrorism on American soil, September 11, 2001.

    Gilbert's 9/11 Memorial rests a beam that once stood on top of the North Tower of the World Trade Center. It gives all the opportunity to pause, touch, remember, and be reminded of our fragile liberties. You can visit this memorial at any time, day or night.

    Memorial services are scheduled for 6 p.m. As a mark of respect for the 20th anniversary of 9/11. Besides civilians, the Gilbert Fire Department and the Gilbert Police Department also attended this memorial service to honor the lives of those who died and pay homage to the first person who dared to raise the call during the events of 11 September.

    This commemoration event was also filled with the projection of two lights soaring into the sky as a symbol of remembering the World Trade Center's twin towers which will be projected when the ceremony is done.

    This event will be held on Saturday, and this commemoration event will start at 6 p.m. After the event opens and starts, the following tribute in light will occur from 7:30 p.m. until 10:30 p.m. Furthermore, the iconic water tower in Gilbert will be decorated with red, white, and blue colors as a symbol of the celebration of the national day.
