Chandler center for the arts is accepting youth arts council applications until 3 September

    2021-08-27

CHANDLER, AZ - Youth Arts Council is a forum for young people dedicated to art appreciation, leadership, and community service. As part of this event, youth will participate in a three-hour, face-to-face session for six months, leading to a hands-on leadership experience at a performing arts center.

This event also features experts and problem-solving projects, aiming to increase a student's awareness of career opportunities in the arts, financial responsibility for youth, foster leadership in youth, and develop public relations and marketing for arts.

The sponsor of this program is the Chandler Cultural Foundation, an organization that supports the visual and performing arts at Chandler Center for The Arts and other charitable institutions.

All participants in this program do not need to pay any fees. Sessions of the program begin at 5 p.m. on the specified Wednesday and last until 8 p.m. Selected participants are expected to attend all sessions during their term. Upon completion of the program, youth arts council members will earn a certification of completion.

Youth Arts Council members must meet the following expectations:

    - Serve as an active member for one year

    - Attend all meetings

    - Provide information when unable to attend

    - Not attending 3 meetings for no reason will change the status

    - Actively participating in discussions, decision-making, and execution of all projects.

    - Serving as a representative of the Chandler Center for the Arts mission.

    - Ensure meeting materials are reviewed before the meeting

For registration, candidates must be 13 to 17 years old and attending an accredited public, private, parochial, charter, or home school.

The program will run from September to March, and a maximum of 15 teenagers will be accepted from the total registrants.

Applicants for the 2021-2022 school year can apply here by 3 September 2021 at 5 p.m. Interviews will be scheduled for 8 September 2021, and the first session of the program will be held on 15 September 2021.
