VICTORIA, Texas – Victoria County is warning people of scam calls. The scammers falsely claim residents have been subpoenaed to court.

The callers will try to intimidate you into giving them personal information. The county advises not to give them any information and to hang up immediately. The Victoria County Sheriff's Office is requesting these incidents be reported to them as soon as possible.

The Victoria County criminal district attorney does reach out to prospective witnesses, but they will identify themselves when calling individuals. If you get a call from an investigator and you're not sure they are legitimate, you can ask to call them back and call the main office number at 361-575-0468 to confirm.
