VIDEO: $50K reward offered in fatal shooting of Victorville man at South L.A. gas station

Homicide detectives reached out to the public for help Wednesday and announced a $50,000 reward for information in connection with the fatal shooting of a Victorville father of four at a South Los Angeles gas station that was caught on camera last year.

Marquette Scott, 32, of Victorville was killed in the Dec. 3, 2023 shooting at Manchester Avenue and Hoover Street, according to the Los Angeles Police Department.

"(He) was seated inside his parked vehicle when he was approached by an unknown suspect and shot to death," according to an LAPD statement . "The suspect(s) involved in this incident remain outstanding, and the motive for this shooting is still under investigation."

Surveillance camera footage shows a white SUV coming to a stop in the gas station before two masked men carrying handguns and wearing hooded sweatshirts jump out and open fire.

One of the attackers is seen walking directly to Scott's vehicle as it sat at a gas pump and firing numerous times through the driver-side window.

The second attacker can be seen shooting at, but apparently missing, another man who was standing in front of the gas station.

Both gunmen then got back into the white SUV and sped off.

Family told NBC4 at the time that Scott was a father of for and was killed when he stopped for gas while out shopping for Christmas presents.

After investigating other investigative leads, detectives have obtained authorization for a $50,000 reward for information leading to the capture and conviction of a suspect, officials said.
