Moses House Ministries hosting resource fair at Life Church in Victorville

Moses House Ministries will host a Community Resource Fair this weekend at Life Church in Victorville.

The event is scheduled from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. on Saturday, Aug. 24, at the church, located at 12199 Industrial Boulevard . The fair will include resource booths, activities for kids, giveaways and food vendors.

Organizers suggest visitors bring a box of diapers to donate.

Moses House

A portion of the proceeds from the resource fair will benefit the nonprofit Moses House, which was founded in 1996 by Dennis and Judy Morris, who desired to help struggling mothers with their financial and emotional needs.

Since then, the Victorville nonprofit has begun to focus on fathers and families.

Over the last year, Moses House has adapted to provide parenting education and case management services remotely through virtual meetings and community partner sites located across the High Desert, Executive Director Matt Coughlin said.

Focusing on serving families away from the nonprofit’s main site on Seventh Street in Victorville means the nonprofit needs less meeting space and that families save time by traveling to a nearby site.

Seven paid staff members and volunteers serve about 300 families yearly in various degrees, Coughlin said.

Moses House also accepts donated items such as diapers, toys, formula, car seats, bibs, washcloths and other items a young child would need.
