Man killed in two-vehicle crash along Highway 138 near Phelan

A man died following a two-vehicle crash between his pickup truck and another vehicle on Highway 138 near Phelan on Friday night, authorities said.

The crash was first reported about 9:15 p.m. on the highway near Sayle Road, just south of Phelan, according to California Highway Patrol logs.

First responders arrived at the scene to find a two-vehicle crash involving a Ford F-150 pickup truck that had overturned, trapping an elderly man inside, logs show. He died at the scene.

No details were initially available regarding the other involved vehicle or its driver.

The identity of the man killed in the collision was not yet released pending positive identification and notification of family by San Bernardino County coroner's officials.
