    Aerobatics, vintage planes and more: Apple Valley Air Show returns to High Desert skies

    The Apple Valley Airport will welcome a fleet of unique and historic aircraft next month as the Apple Valley Air Show returns to the skies over the High Desert.

    The 21st Annual Apple Valley Airshow and NAPA Car Show is scheduled from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. on Oct. 12 at the airport, 21600 Corwin Rd. , organizers said.

    Scheduled performers include aerobatic pilots, vintage military aircraft, formation flying demonstrations, jets, skydivers, static displays and more, according to air show officials.

    The show will also include the "Flight Deck STEM Expo" for kids, in partnership with the U.S. Air Force Office of Scientific Outreach.

    Food and other vendors are also planned.

    Tickets cost $10 for adults, or $7 for military members and veterans with ID, organizers said. Kids 11 and under get in free.

    Tickets can be purchased, cash only, at the gate on the day of the event.

    Additionally, advance tickets went on sale Tuesday at three locations:

    • The Apple Valley Airport Office, 21600 Corwin Road in Apple Valley, open 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. Mondays through Fridays
    • The Little Aviator Cafe at the Apple Valley Airport, 21600 Corwin Road, open daily from 7 a.m. to 2 p.m.
    • Inglis Classics, 17229 Lemon Street in Hesperia , open from noon to 6 p.m. Mondays through Fridays

    Edwards Air Force Base: Foundation fights to preserve history of American aviation

    Guests are encouraged to bring chairs, blankets, hats, sunscreen and sunglasses. No animals will be allowed, with the exception of certified service animals. Large umbrellas, canopies, large ice chests and alcohol are also not allowed at the show.
