Georgia Southern women's tennis was named an Intercollegiate Tennis Association All-Academic Team honoree for the ninth straight year, while all nine Eagles earned individual ITA Scholar-Athlete honors, announced Monday by the organization. ITA All-Academic Teams are awarded to Division I schools that maintain a 3.20 GPA or better for the entire year, while ITA Scholar-Athletes must maintain a 3.50 GPA or better for the year. Victim ID’d after body found in Savannah River
AUGUSTA, Ga. (WRDW/WAGT) - A week after a body was found in the Savannah River, positive identification has been made. The Richmond County Coroner’s Office says 38-year-old Jermaine Pate from Georgiana, Ala., was identified as the victim. Pate’s body was found in the Savannah River early July 19.

On July 4th, the Kiwanis Club of Statesboro scored a major win. They snagged a spot in the top ten for their Signature Project, the Kiwanis Ogeechee Fair, at the 2024 Kiwanis International Convention, beating out 526 other projects from 33 countries.
