Stream NYC screamo band OLTH's new two-song single
OLTH have been building a reputation as one of NYC’s best newer screamo bands, thanks in part to their wild live show (I caught them with Liturgy at TV Eye last year and it was batshit), and their recordings are just getting better and better too. They’re following their 2023 debut LP every day is sOmeOne’s speciaL day with a new two-song single, “fire dOve / xO,” and these are two of their strongest, most musically-varied songs yet. They’ve got their harsh, screeching, caustic screamo down pat, and they also branch off into heavy/beautiful post-metal territory on the climactic “fire dOve” and tread some Slint-like waters on “xO.”

The New York Mets and Milwaukee Brewers made a trade on Sunday when Tyler Jay was swapped for TJ Shook. The deal involves a couple of double takes. For one, the Mets getting anything at all for Jay who’d been DFA’d already is pretty impressive. For it to be a minor league arm albeit not one performing all that well sweetens this more.

Last week, the Memphis Grizzlies opted to move on from their 2021 lottery-selected wing, Ziaire Williams via trade with the Brooklyn Nets. Though perhaps seen as a long-overdue move to some, others such as superstar Ja Morant seem to be admittedly saddened by the exchange, voicing on a social media post "this hurt ngl."
