Fort Myers Alumni Chapter of Kappa Alpha Psi Fraternity presented Mayor Kevin Anderson with the 2024 Community Leadership Award for outstanding leadership and dedication to the City of Fort Myers. The Mayor was recognized alongside Dr. Charles Dailey (Polemarch’s Award) and Constance White-Davis (Community Service Award). Fort Myers Beach’s The Beach Bar to be rebuilt
Construction on the rebuild of The Beach Bar on Fort Myers Beach is scheduled to begin in the fall. The bar and live entertainment venue at 1668 I St. was completely destroyed by Hurricane Ian in September 2022. The reimagined Beach Bar, designed by Studio A.D. and to be built by Stevens Construction, will be located on its original site. It will encompass approximately 10,000 square feet in a three-story building. The first floor is designed to provide patrons with a with a festive small-town vibe, and will house an open-air bar, stage and restroom trailer. The second and third floors will offer residential units with panoramic coastal views. The interior design concept handled by EDGE includes a neutral stucco exterior façade with a pop of bright yellow Bahama shutters to tie in the Beach Bar’s long-standing yellow beer mug logo. The interior will be designed with a coastal modern aesthetic, a neutral color palette and contrasting light and dark cabinetry throughout.
