Local Towns Mailing Tax Bills Late Due to Late-Arriving Certification
Several local communities are extending the due date for third quarter tax bills due to late arriving certifications of tax rates to municipalities. Middle Township announced its bills will be mailed next week, with the grace period extended until August 30th. Avalon officials have mailed their bills, and the extension date is August 19th with zero late penalty. Stone Harbor has extended its payment date until September 3rd.

Work on the Merion Park flood mitigation project will continue through the summer on Bay Avenue, Simpson Avenue and 35th Street in the area of the Little League field. There will be no road closings during the work, and it will allow the new pump stations to be operational by Thanksgiving. By allowing this work to continue, residents will see the benefits of flood relief months earlier than if work had been suspended for the season.
