CRAIG COUNTY, Okla. — A cadaver dog hit three areas inside a quarry pond on Friday in the quest to find the possible remains of a missing northwest Arkansas woman.

Authorities are using divers and cadaver dogs at 33 Acre Pond south of Vinita.

McDonald County Cold Case Detective Lori Howard said Friday’s hits were at the same location as the dogs hit during a search of the pond in June.

The Cherokee Nation dive team sent dive teams and sonar equipment into the water at the location where the dog hit.

Howard declined to release the name of the missing woman but did say investigators believe she may have been bound with barbed wire.

The cadaver dogs have been on the scene since 6:30 am and are expected to complete the search around noon.
