Louisiana Contemporary Opens Aug. 3 at the Ogden Museum
NEW ORLEANS (press release) – Ogden Museum of Southern Art first launched Louisiana Contemporary, presented by The Helis Foundation in 2012, to establish a vehicle that would bring to the fore the work of artists living in Louisiana and highlight the dynamism of art practice throughout the state. Since the inaugural exhibition 13 years ago, Ogden Museum has shown works by over 560 artists, making Louisiana Contemporary an important moment in the national arts calendar to recognize and experience the spectrum and vitality of artistic voices emanating from New Orleans and in art communities across Louisiana.
Two found dead outside Amite city limits; family identifies victims as couple
AMITE— Tangipahoa Parish Sheriff's deputies are currently investigating a double homicide reported just outside Amite City Tuesday morning. Tangipahoa Parish Sheriff Gerald Sticker says first responders found a man and woman dead along the 600 block of West MLK Street after receiving a 911 call about a shooting around 5:00 a.m.
WA Based Fertilizer Company Expands to Texas
New out of Bellingham, WA, Tidal Grow Agriscience has received a USDA grant to expand its operations. Company will begin construction of a new plant in Texas. "BELLINGHAM, Wash. — Tidal Grow® AgriScience, a division of Tidal Vision Products Inc., has been awarded a Fertilizer Production Expansion Program (FPEP) grant by the USDA. This funding significantly increases production of the popular seafood hydrolysate liquid fertilizers Oceanic® and SeaPhos®. Tidal Grow AgriScience manufactures novel plant nutrition and crop protection solutions."
