PBS Crew Visits La Salle And Peru For Future Program
One way to get people talking is to have a film crew show up in your neck of the woods. A crew with PBS Wisconsin was in La Salle and Peru on Thursday, filming an episode for the show “John McGivern's Main Streets”. McGivern is an Emmy award-winning actor and host who is taping his 4th season of the PBS show that uncovers the uniqueness and charm of Midwest cities.
Homeowners surprised by receiving August’s ‘Yard of the Month’
Roger and Diana Honts have lived in their home, nestled in a cul-de- sac and bordering a cornfield, since Roger built it in 1994. The Honts, who reside on Shadycrest Drive, got the news Thursday that their yard, which they have cultivated and nurtured over the decades, had been awarded August’s Yard of the Month.

The Warren-Henderson Farm Bureau® Foundation is proud to announce this year’s scholarship recipients. Due to the generosity of the Twomey Family Foundation, memorials in honor of loved ones, support from our members and area businesses, and fundraising efforts, the Foundation can assist nineteen applicants this year in furthering their education in agriculture. Each of this year’s recipients will receive a total of $1,300 for the 2024-25 academic year.

The Galesburg Police Department will host the 2024 National Night Out on August 6, 2024, in Standish Park. This annual event fosters police-community partnerships to enhance neighborhood safety. The event will feature interactions with local law enforcement, healthcare representatives, and various community agencies from 5 to 7 PM.
