At 39 years old, Madison's Garrett Jones finally achieves dream of winning the Wisconsin State Amateur Championship. Garrett Jones had tears in his eyes Thursday as he walked up the steep hill from the 18th green to the clubhouse at The Legend at Merrill Hills. The Madison golfer had just won the 123rd Wisconsin State Amateur, and friends and fellow competitors were stopping him every few feet to congratulate him, to hug him, to show their appreciation for a job well done.
