Dane Co. Sheriff: 4 arrested in town of Oregon after disturbance
TOWN OF OREGON, Wis. (WMTV) - Multiple people were arrested in the town of Oregon early Friday morning after a disturbance, Dane County Sheriff’s Office said. After a disconnected 911 call, officials responded around 5:30 a.m. at County Highway MM and Rome Corners Road. When deputies arrived, several people ran from a disabled car on the side of the road, officials said.
Platteville School District Decides Not To Cut Swim Team
The Platteville School District Board of Education has decided not to cut the boys and girls swimming teams from the 2024-2025 budget. The Board of Education must decide by late August if it should have another operating expense referendum. A referendum failed this past spring. Administrators with the Platteville School District are proposing $857,000 in 2024-2025 budget cuts.

Northeast Iowa Bridge Projects Held Up by High River Levels Move Forward

Council approves local housing development’s shift to townhomes
Plans for a pair of proposed apartment buildings may be changing. Andy Anderson, a representative of Briar Grove Apartments and Echo Development, presented a request Monday night to the Decorah City Council, regarding the construction of four apartment buildings in the Decorah business park, located near Toppling Goliath on Sweet Parkway Drive. Two of the residential buildings have already been built, and Anderson said the developers want to change plans for the remaining two buildings — making them townhouses rather than apartments.
Southeast Minnesota Home Damaged When Car Crashes Through Roof
La Crescent, MN (KROC-AM News) - It appears a medical condition may have contributed to a spectacular car crash in southeastern Minnesota Thursday morning. A spokesperson for the La Crescent Police Department says a car went off a road and down a steep hill before crashing into the roof of the home. The incident was reported around 10:30 AM in a residential neighborhood on the southern edge of the Houston County community along the Mississippi River.
