Young and the Restless: Faith Bonds with Lucy, making her Sharon Next Target

In the upcoming episodes of The Young and the Restless (Y&R), Faith Newman finds herself caught in a complicated situation that pits her instincts against her mother Sharon’s warnings.

Despite Sharon's plea to keep a distance from Lucy, Faith decides to reach out, potentially setting off a chain of events that could lead to deeper conflict and dangerous revelations.

Faith Defies Sharon’s Advice

Faith is not going to follow Sharon's advice. Sharon advised her to wait since the loss was still so recent when Faith recommended that she get in touch with Lucy and offer support. Obviously, Sharon does not want Faith to be any more involved in the situation than is necessary.

This is due in part to Sharon's continued perception of Lucy as a threat and in part to Sharon's connection to Lucy's mother's death.

Given Sharon's efforts to hide what actually transpired with Heather, it makes sense that she would want Faith to stay as far away from the drama as possible. Faith simply cannot avoid Lucy during the week of October 14–18, despite Sharon's likely desire to postpone their interaction for a much longer period of time.

It appears that Faith might run into Lucy at Crimson Lights, or perhaps she will call her there to speak with her. In any event, Y&R spoilers indicate that Faith would comfort Lucy after Heather's passing and give her a heartfelt embrace.

Faith will undoubtedly want to assist if she can in any way. Lucy could remember that Faith eventually informed her that she didn't want a true friendship. However, depending on the situation, Faith can change her mind and argue that they are friends.

Faith will want to be that person for Lucy because she definitely need a friend to confide in at this time. It goes without saying that if Sharon witnesses Faith hugging Lucy or at least learns of this interaction from Faith afterward, trouble may be on the doorstep.

Faith and Lucy’s Friendship Sparks Conflict

Sharon might find it difficult to control her anxiety and freak Faith out as a result of her panic over Lucy and Faith becoming close. Plus, there’s the potential for Lucy to complain to Faith about Sharon at some point – especially if Daniel gets arrested.

Lucy may realize Sharon’s statement to Chance got the ball rolling on Daniel’s downfall and throw blame her way. Maybe Lucy could even accuse Sharon of setting Daniel up, which is exactly what she’s doing.
