Green Bay Packers quarterback Jordan Love has been ruled inactive against the Tennessee Titans in Week 3 of the NFL season as he continues to recover from the MCL sprain he sustained in Week 1. Love returned to limited practice this week for the first time since his injury during the Packers’ loss to the Philadelphia Eagles in Brazil.

Despite his progress, the Packers have chosen to prioritize his long-term health, giving him another week to recover fully. According to NFL Network’s Tom Pelissero and Ian Rapoport , Love is expected to return for Week 4 against the Minnesota Vikings.

Many believed Love had a chance to play after participating in full pads during practice, but head coach Matt LaFleur emphasized that Love’s participation was limited.

While optimism grew throughout the week, the Packers ultimately decided to play it safe, opting to hold Love out for another week. This decision aligns with earlier expectations that Week 4 would be the most likely return date for the 25-year-old quarterback.

Malik Willis Set to Start Again for Packers

With Love out, Malik Willis will start for the Packers for the second consecutive game. Willis, who was traded to Green Bay from the Tennessee Titans just before the season, led the Packers to a 16-10 victory over the Indianapolis Colts in Week 2. He completed 12 of 14 passes for 122 yards and threw his first NFL touchdown, while also contributing to the Packers’ dominant 261-yard rushing performance.

Although LaFleur stated that the full playbook was available to Willis, the Packers primarily relied on the run game to secure the win. Willis now faces his former team, the Titans, who drafted him in the third round of the 2022 NFL Draft.

Though Willis downplayed any “revenge game” narrative, his familiarity with Tennessee adds intrigue to Sunday’s matchup.

Packers Face More Key Injuries Along the Offensive Line and Secondary

In addition to Jordan Love, the Packers will be without rookie guard Jordan Morgan, who is sidelined with a shoulder injury. Morgan, a first-round pick, had been rotating at right guard with Sean Rhyan, but Rhyan will now handle the position solo against Tennessee.

This marks Morgan’s second shoulder injury since training camp, with no clear timeline for his return. Additionally, Green Bay will be missing cornerback Carrington Valentine, who had been sharing snaps with Eric Stokes at the boundary corner position. With Valentine out, Stokes will take over the role full-time.

Other Packers inactives for Week 3 include safety Kitan Oladapo, defensive lineman Brenton Cox Jr., tackle Travis Glover, and defensive lineman Colby Wooden. Green Bay (1-1) will face Tennessee (0-2) at 1 p.m. ET on Sunday, with Malik Willis once again stepping in at quarterback for a pivotal early-season matchup.
