The Carolina Panthers have benched rookie quarterback Bryce Young after their Week 2 loss to the Los Angeles Chargers, but this decision is not permanent.
According to NFL Network Insider Ian Rapoport , sources indicate the move is meant to serve as a temporary reset for the 2023 No. 1 overall pick, who is expected to return to the starting role later this season.
Veteran quarterback Andy Dalton will start for the Panthers in their Week 3 game against the Las Vegas Raiders, but the organization remains committed to Young as their long-term quarterback.
The decision to bench him is viewed as a chance for Young to regroup, slow things down, and regain his confidence before stepping back onto the field.
