I recently had the pleasure of dining at Blackwall Hitch, a gem nestled by the water in Old Town Alexandria. The beautiful atmosphere and seaside scenery were a feast for the eyes, and the food, a feast for the palate. The seafood came highly recommended, and it did not disappoint. The BLUE POINT oysters, roasted sea bass, and salmon and pan-fried scallops with tartar sauce were all divine.
The restaurant also boasts an attractive happy hour and a beautiful dim lighting after dark that adds to the overall ambiance. The deck with good views outside is a great spot during good weather. The flaming crab dip and beef short ribs were a hit, and the crab cakes were some of the best I've had in a while.
For those who enjoy a hearty brunch, Blackwall Hitch offers a self-serve, all-you-can-eat buffet with fresh omelets made to order. The live jazz band playing inside adds to the lively atmosphere. Whether you choose to sit indoors or out, you're in for a treat. So, if you're a foodie like me, I'd definitely recommend giving Blackwall Hitch a try.
