Recently, I had the pleasure of dining at The Rustic Spoon, a vibrant spot that's quickly climbing my list of favorite brunch places. The atmosphere buzzes with energy, making it a delightful setting for a meal out with friends or family. I kicked off my meal with their Scotch Egg, a delightful concoction of egg wrapped in sausage and breadcrumbs, which was a hit at our table. The Fried Calamari was notably fresh, and the Shrimp and Grit Cake came with a sauce that was flavorful, although the sausage under the Egg Benedict was a tad too salty for my taste. For those with a sweet tooth, the Spoon Stack, a luscious soufflé, is a must-try. I also couldn't resist the Stuffed French Toast, which is essentially dessert disguised as breakfast – absolutely decadent! The Carne Asada Hash special was another standout, perfectly paired with chimichurri sauce over sweet potatoes. The home fries and flavored coffees with yummy whipped cream rounded off the meal beautifully. Despite a small hiccup with the portion size of a special dinner involving scallops, steak, and salmon, the overall experience was positive, and I'm eager to return and explore more of their menu.
