Virginia is for Valentines lovers

Valentines Virginia is a small unincorporated town on the border between Virginia and North Carolina. Located in Brunswick County there is one building that houses the Post Office and a store (per WTVR).

It's possible that thousands of people may travel to the town for Heart Day and hundreds go to the Post Office each year to obtain a unique postmark. There is a heart-shaped, hand-stamped postmark because this is the only postal service in the nation with the name "Valentines".

Mail processed with the special postmark will stop after February 14 so there are only 24 hours left if you desire one. According to Wikipedia there is also another special location in Valentines Virginia. The Mason Tillet house was placed on the National Registry of Historic Places in 2014.
