Lynchburg and Richmond Amtrak stations have buildings

In Richmond, Virginia, the Amtrak station has a building with restrooms, and Lynchburg's Amtrak station is also a building with restrooms. The Roanoke Amtrak station only has a platform with a shelter.

Today, I picked up a relative who, along with other Amtrak users, had to walk in the pouring rain. I had to leave the car like others waiting in the rain to wave so the relative would see where I was parked.

Roanoke Amtrak riders are discontent

I have now picked up Amtrak riders in the cold, extreme heat, late night, and rain. The safety and comfort of those using the train is essential. I listened as passengers and their rides complained about Roanoke only having a platform.

I heard one person say part of the parking lot between Salem and Campbell Avenue could be used to build a station with a restroom, like in Lynchburg and Richmond, to house those waiting for the train and those exiting.
