Cars without drivers may be in Virginia's future

WDBJ7 reported that Virginia began using driverless shuttles in 2019. The automated vehicles were in Crozet near Charlottesville. In March of this year, The Verge revealed that New York had welcomed robotaxis, which are taxi cabs with passengers in the back but no driver.

Many wonder how safe these vehicles are. New Scientists suggest that driverless automobiles are safer than those driven by humans, but they have problems making turns.

Will driverless vehicles become part of Virginia's future? Government Technology reports that lawmakers in the Commonwealth are taking a hands-off approach. They don't want to interfere with progress, so they are watching the situation for now.

I have heard nothing good about driverless cars. We have enough going on with crashes driving now.

    That’s dangerous at the least.
