    Fatman Scoop is confirmed dead

    CNN reports that fifty-three-year-old rapper Fatman Scoop, who sang backup with Virginian Missy Elliot, collapsed on stage Friday night. He was born Isaac Freeman III on August 6, 1971, and his death was confirmed on his official Instagram page Saturday morning.

    “Last night, the world lost a radiant soul, a beacon of light on the stage and in life,” the post read, adding that he “was not just a world-class performer, he was a father, brother, uncle and a friend.”

    Scoop sang with Missy Elliot

    Elliott, born in Portsmouth and now resides near Virginia Beach, utilized Fatman Scoop on her 2005 hit Lose Control. There is no official cause of death for the rapper who was in concert in Hamden, NJ.

    Sharron Elkabas, the CEO of Freeman's PR firm, told the Hollywood Reporter that Freeman had consumed an energy drink before going onstage and that he "never drank energy drinks, but he did before this show.
