Kitty lounges are becoming popular in Virginia

Cat Cafes are gaining popularity as places where people can enjoy food and drink while felines who need adoption roam free, waiting for a forever home. In Virginia, there are nine of these establishments, seven in the Tidewater and NOVA locations and only two in the Shenandoah Valley region of the State.

    Kitty City Cat Cafe

The Kitty City Cat Cafe is at 601 Salem Avenue SW near Downtown Roanoke. The kitties come from local shelters; you must be at least seven years old to enter the building. Between eight and twelve cats are always on the premises, and you must book paid appointments.

    Cats Cradle

The Cat's Cradle Cat Cafe is a non-profit rescue center in Harrisonburg. They are open Monday through Saturday from 10:30 a.m. until 5:00 p.m. Adults must sign for minors ages seven to seventeen. Sessions are $20 for up to three people for 30 minutes.
