The Knights Templar were defenders of the faith

The original Knights Templar defended the Christian faith and was based on the Temple Mount. They originated in 1119 to protect Christians on their way to Jerusalem and lasted two centuries.

Although nuns were once trained to serve the original Temple Knights, their rules prevented women from becoming a part of society. These brave soldiers met a grim fate on Friday the 13th in 1307 after being arrested.

Virginia has a chapter of the Knights Templar

Some people say this is one reason the date has a reputation for bad luck. They were tortured, and some of them were burned at the stake because they were falsely accused of several crimes.

The organization thrives today with the Knights Templar of Virginia, who also defend Christianity, created on November 28, 1823 AD, in Winchester. Membership is usually through recommendation only.
