Cancellation of the annual event has led to frustration

As a native of Virginia Beach, Pharrell Williams is vocal about how proud he is of his upbringing in the Commonwealth.

Virginia made me, and I want to honor it with as much love as it’s shown me my entire life. And you know me, everywhere I go it’s VA.”

One way the entertainer gives back to his home state is through the annual SOMETHING IN THE WATER FESTIVAL on the Virginia Beach Oceanfront. Unfortunately, for fans looking forward to the October 12 and 13 event, Hype Beat says it has been postponed.

Pharell says the festival is not ready, and Virginia does not deserve better but the best. His intentions may be good, but Wavy News reports that ticket holders and businesses in the area are expressing frustration. People scrambled to get their tickets refunded and hotels canceled, but not everyone has been successful.

Life happens. If he takes it to a thriving state where the businesses make money year around no matter what, then ppl will be made at him. Some things are out of his hands. At least he was trying to help VA. Anyone that stood in line for a concert for hours clearly has time to waste. You’re getting your money back so stop whining.
