Mercury Retrograde Shadow affects some Virginians

Mercury Retrograde ended a cycle on August 24, but some Virginians admit they now feel the after-effects, known as the shadow, which lasts for about two weeks.

Mercury is the closest planet to the Sun. Mercury retrograde is an optical illusion that occurs three or four times a year, making the planet appear to move in the opposite direction than it usually does.

    Virginians share their stories

Some Virginians say they have had strange occurrences during Mercury's Retrograde aftershock Lisa K. said she could not access websites she used regularly, and her cell phone went on the blink last year around New Year.

Elle J. stated that her microwave stopped heating two years in a row, during the shadow of Mercury Retrograde. The first time, it suddenly began working again. The second time was last week and she became so frustrated she purchased a new one.

Reye P. said her cell phone and laptop were not working correctly this past week, and her two blood pressure monitors began malfunctioning. For everyone who says there is nothing to this phenomenon and that electronics will fail, others in the Commonwealth swear by Mercury Retrograde and its shadow.
