GH has a new Lucas

Virginia General Hospital fans, the soap will be preempted on October 1st and 2nd for major league baseball and possibly on the third, depending on the previous game's outcome. If everything goes as scheduled, Spoilers reveal Van Hansis will debut as Lucas Jones on the fourth.

Hansis was nominated for a Daytime Emmy Award in 2007, 2008, and 2009 for his role as Luke Snider on As the World Turns. In 2016, he was nominated again for his role on EastSiders.

Ryan Carnes was beloved in the role, but because Lucas is gay, Carnes, who is straight, says he was typecast and only offered gay characters. His last two roles, however, have had women as his love interests.

Will Lucas reconnect with Brad Cooper (Parry Shen), who may be set up by Portia Robinson ( Brooke Kerr), to change the blood test for Heather Webber ( Ally Mills? Perhaps he might find a new love interest, or Felix Dubois (Mark Anthony Samuel) might return to Port Charles to keep things interesting, so stay tuned.
