    Northern Lights were on display

Explore Park is nestled within the Blue Ridge Mountains of Virginia, just off the Blue Ridge Parkway at Milepost 115 in Roanoke County. In May of this year, Cardinal News reported that EP had one of the best views of the Northern Lights when they were on display.

The auroras were visible again in all of their splendor at Explore Park on Thursday night. Many locals drove to the area to watch the amazing site in total darkness that you cannot obtain in the city.

At Christmas, the Explore Park hosts Illuminights, a winter wonderland where you can walk through and enjoy 650,000 holiday lights. The man made lighting, however, does not compare to the natural brilliance of the Northern Lights.
