This may be my new retirement goal. If you’re not lucky enough to live near a Texas Roadhouse, or if you’ve never been to one, just trust me when I say that it's the best steakhouse chain out there. Honestly, I'd rather go to Texas Roadhouse than some of the much more expensive steakhouses I've eaten at. The food's great, it's reasonably priced...hell, just the rolls and cinnamon butter that you get with your meal are worth the trip. And one retired couple is apparently such a big fan of the steakhouse that they've made it their mission to visit all 600+ locations. Mike and Judy McNamara say they fell in love with Texas Roadhouse back in 2003, and after they retired, Mike went through their credit card statements to piece together all of the locations they've visited. Turns out it was 37 different locations - so in 2018, they decided to try to hit the rest of them. The couple hooks up their camper for two 2-month road trips each year, and sets out to knock Texas Roadhouse locations off their list. And so far, they've visited an astounding 437 different locations of the same restaurant. Mike says they drive around 25,000 miles per year to visit new locations, and expect to top 500 early next year. But that still leaves over 100 locations left to visit of the current 620 Texas Roadhouse locations that are open around the country. And the couple aren't sure that they're going to make it to all of them:
"It'll probably get harder after that because they're farther away from home every time now." The couple started out getting the same thing every time, but after a while apparently it got to be a little too much, so now Mike says they switch between four or five different things on the menu. As for why they're such big fans of the restaurant? They say it's not just the food, but the employees: “It’s more like home cooking to us. And as time has gone by, it’s not just the food. It’s also the people who work at the restaurants. They are a very big family of employees.” At this point I feel like Texas Roadhouse needs to just get these people on a plane and help them finish out their quest. We can't have them falling short after eating at over 500. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=eRzmcK5_HlU
