    Pork roast made easy

    2024-07-25

If you are a avid reader of my recipes, you may have noticed that I have been a busy mom for many years. Despite my hectic schedule, I always made it a priority to provide my family with healthy, homemade meals. I wanted to ensure that my foster, adoptive, and birth children had the skills to create delicious meals for themselves and not rely on frozen or convenience foods from the nearest convenience store. With inflation, meat prices have skyrocketed, but there is a cost-effective way to get the most out of your meat purchase. Save some of the meat and broth, and use it to create a tasty soup for your next meal. My pork soup recipe is budget-friendly and effortless to make. Following this recipe, I'll share with you my pork soup recipe, which is both simple and wallet-friendly.

    Ingredients:

    1 pork roast

    1 onion ( optional)

    Sliced carrots ( optional)

    Water

    1package of brown gravy

    Ready to make?

To make cleanup easier later on, it's a good idea to spray your slow cooker with cooking oil before getting started. Next, place your pork roast inside the crock pot and add enough water to cover about 3/4 of the meat. This will later be used to make your gravy. If you prefer, you can also add sliced onions and carrots to the pot. Cook everything on low heat for 5 to 6 hours, adjusting the timing based on the size of your pork roast. To enhance the taste, you may add a pinch of salt and pepper or a dash of garlic powder.

Pairing this with rice and a vegetable makes for a delicious and healthy meal. I highly recommend investing in a rice cooker, especially if you have a busy schedule. I purchased mine for only $20 a couple of years ago and it has been a game changer. Being able to cook rice without having to constantly monitor it means I can focus on other tasks while still making a nutritious meal. Any busy mom will definitely appreciate the convenience of a rice cooker!

I hope you enjoy pork roast cooked in the slow cooker. The slow cooking process really does make it very tender. And, using the leftovers to make a pork soup is a great idea for another budget-friendly meal. So, save the broth gravy and some pork for a soup dinner.

I hope you enjoyed the recipe. Be sure to check out my previous recipes and follow me for more in the future. Thank you for your support and have a great day!
