    College soup

    2024-08-01

Many of you probably have children that have gone off to college. This is their first winter away from their family, and it is cold and flu season, so when they are feeling under the weather, this is an easy soup for them to make, and you feel like they are getting some vegetables into them. This recipe is simple and requires minimal ingredients. Additionally, it yields enough leftovers for multiple meals, making it an economical option for college students on a budget. Share this with any college student or anyone who is trying to save a few dollars in this era of high inflation.

    Ingredients:

1/2 to 1 pound of ground meat or turkey

1 bag of frozen mixed vegatables

1 package of onion soup mix

    5 cups of water

    1 can of diced tomatoes

    1 box of pasta

    Ready to make?

First, cook the ground meat or turkey until it is fully cooked but not overcooked. Once done, drain any excess grease from the pan. To make your soup, start by adding five cups of water to a soup pot and stirring in the onion soup mix. Heat the mixture until it's warm. Then, add your ground beef and the bag of mixed vegetables. Add in the diced tomatoes and let everything simmer until hot. While the soup is cooking, prepare your macaroni by following the instructions on the box. You can use the whole box or just one cup, depending on how much you want to eat.

Add the pasta to your bowl and cover with your vegetable soup. Enjoy!
