After the union representing thousands of dockworkers announced that their strike would be suspended to January , the Port of Virginia marine terminals and support facilities will reopen Saturday.

The port will offer extended weekend gate hours over the weekend to support the reopening, according to an announcement from the Port of Virginia. The Pinner’s Point Container Yard, Portsmouth Chassis Yard, Reefer Service Area, Norfolk International Terminal and Virginia International Gateway will open at 7 a.m. Saturday.

For Norfolk International Terminal and Virginia International Gateway, inbound portal will close at 4 p.m. Truckers also will have mandatory reservations over the weekend, as well. Final reefer pick ups, or vehicles that transport perishable goods, will be at 3:30 p.m. For Pinner’s Point Container Yard, Portsmouth Chassis Yard and Reefer Service Area, the last reefer pickup will be at 4:30 p.m.

Normal operating hours will resume Monday.

According to the Associated Press , both sides also reached agreement on wages, but no details were given in a joint statement from the ports and union Thursday night. The union went on strike early Tuesday after its contract expired in a dispute over pay and the automation of tasks at the ports from Maine to Texas, including port operations in Hampton Roads.
